Creative Brief for Final Project
Digital Public Map (Billboard)
When people get lost and do not have an access to the internet, they can always access to digital public map. A digital public map should be located at every 5 meters on the road or on the freeway and anybody can access to it for free.
It could have the whole web device, but as the service is free of charge, there may be some people who only like to use the internet might be there to use it 24/7. To avoid that situation, this should only work as a stable GPA and it only gives the map feature and tells you where to get some gas and food when people are on the road.
Again, this is for people who do not have iphones or mobile devices to get connected to the internet.
Target Audience:
People who travel a lot, but do not have any mobiles devices to get connected to the internet. The digital public map can be anywhere, such as subway, on the freeway, on the street where people need to get the accurate directions.
How it works:
It works just like mobile internet, such as iphones, GPAs. But in order for people on the road to access to the most accurate information about the road, it always has to be updated promptly. For example, if there is a lane or an exit that is going to be closed for a certain time period, they (workers or companies that are going to be working on the road) have to update the info on the main digital map device (they have to send a data to the main device), so that every single digital public map will be updated and lead people to the closest way to get their destinations when they cannot take any of the closed lane.
Each digital public map should also speak and easy to scroll in case the deaf or the blind need to use it.

Introduction
This project is a promotional project for a 2008 president candidate, John Edwards. John Edwards’s goals are mainly, 1) eliminating poverty in this country, 2) fighting global warming, 3) providing health care, and 4) withdrawing troops from Iraq. We are going to build a website that is going to be eye-catching and grab people’s attention in order for the audience to pay attention to what John Edwards has to say and understand his plans if this candidate is selected as the President of United States.
Problem Statement
General Problems in Today’s Websites:
In general, there are so many websites that do not function well, are not designed well and are not interesting enough to grab people’s eyes. Even if the content is great, people will not be interested if the overall look of the site is horrible.
In order to promote John Edwards, we are going to make an extraordinarily well-designed website for him.
Problems That Edwards Wants To Solve With The People In The U.S.
Poverty: As most people who have been in Los Angeles have noticed, there are so many homeless people sleeping on the street. Mr. Edwards wants people to find jobs so they can get themselves off the street by providing new college plans (this pretty much allows anybody to borrow money from the government or get free tuitions to go to school, but the student promises to work at least 10hours a week).
Global Warming: John Edwards called for a cap on greenhouse gas emissions, and stricter fuel efficiency standards for automobiles to combat global warming. The plan would also, “create a New Energy Economy Fund by auctioning off $10 billion in greenhouse pollution permits and repealing subsidies for big oil companies. The fund will support U.S. research and development in energy technology, help entrepreneurs start new businesses, invest in new carbon-capture and efficient automobile technology and help Americans conserve energy. It would also meet the demand for more electricity through efficiency for the next decade, instead of producing more electricity.”
Healthcare for Everybody: Medical fees in the U.S. are outrageously high. People from poor families hardly receive high-quality medical care. Mr. Edwards has a universal health care plan that requires all Americans to purchase health care, all Americans must receive preventive care, and requires employers to provide health care or be taxed to fund public health care.
The Iraq War: Everyday, innocent people are dying in the ongoing war in Iraq. He strongly believes the war will no longer bring us anything but disaster. He has denounced the "troop surge" in Iraq and is a proponent of withdrawal, and has urged Congress to withhold funding for the war without a withdrawal timetable.
Goals
1. Target Audience
Mainly, 1) people who are from the poor family and having hard time receiving education because of their low income, 2) people who work in any type of hospitals or medical care services, and people who cannot receive medical services because of the high medical fees, 3) people whose family members are fighting in the war and who believe the war will do nothing for our country.
4. Budget
It can be very expensive as long as this site promotes him well enough.
Due Dates
Jan. 28th 2008 Brief Presentation of the project
Feb. 18th Final file for the project has to be posted online
25th Project Due
Solution Analysis
Not only this project will train us to develop our concepts in political, corporate, or nation type of subject, but it also gives us a chance to show our work to the public. If this becomes extremely successful and brings the candidate, John Edwards, great success, it will also make our business successful.
Sources
Sources for this project will be very large. They could be online sources, books, newspapers, and articles about candidates for the 2008 Presidential Election.
